Serengeti Plains

Experience "The Big Five"...

The vast plains in Tanzania – is last frontier on Earth. Known as one of “The Seven Tourist Travel Wonders of the World”, the Great Migration occurs here from July to October each year. Millions of grazing animals cross the plains in search of pastures, crossing 500 miles of plains in the process.

Within the Serengeti is the Olduvai Gorge – or “Cradle of Mankind”. It is located in a ravine in the Great Rift Valley – and made famous in the 1950’s by the noted archeologist Dr. Leakey. One distinction is that the Gorge is said to have the oldest known evidence of mammoth consumption, as well as remains of what are thought by some to be the predecessor to humans.

The Serengeti National Park was Tanzania’s first National Park, and continues today as one of the last wildlife refuges.
